Welcome to the Schools of Moses Powell, where
true warriors train for war, but pray for peace.
The school was founded in 1996 (formerly
Martial Arts International) in honor of the late
great Grandmaster Dr. Moses Powell, a true
martial artist. The Schools of Moses Powell
focuses on the essence of Grandmaster Powell's
teachings and philosophies as they pertain to
martial arts / science. Grandmaster Powell
strongly believed martial arts/science should be
simple, effective, and more importantly realistic.
He lived his life in search of perfecting these
attributes within the context of martial arts /
science.

Martial Arts / Science can be very abstract and
complex at times. Through the years its true
meaning has become distorted and thus
confused by many "practitioners". It is not just
kicking, punching, and yelling. Martial Arts /
Science has a much deeper purpose and
meaning. It is the deliberate and precise
combination of spiritual / mental (75%) and
physical (25%) attributes to ascend the
practitioner to new levels. The Schools of Moses
Powell approaches the teaching of the martial
arts/science in this exact manner (as originally
intended). We focus on the principles of martial
arts / science! The belief is that by focusing on
the principles, one becomes a more adaptable,
flexible, and well rounded martial artist and
human being.
